Frying belly pork

I got some salt & chilli pork belly strips from Aldi. They apparently take 50-55 mins in the oven.

Can I fry them? I'm planning on chopping them up into small chunks and having it with a teriyaki sauce and rice with veg.

Instructions on the back only say to oven cook.

Sorry if it's a stupid question but want to check!

I suspect they'd be very rubbery cooked liked that, but they wouldn't do you any harm.

If you have an air fryer that works - but still takes some time, I think about 40mins

I always do them in the air fryer, takes a while to properly render the fat down but definitely worth the wait.

I believe in some cultures they boil the pieces first before chopping into pieces and frying to crisp up. Probably helps some of the fat render out and helps tenderise it.

You'd have to give them a good, hard fry to get the fat rendered and crispy. Otherwise it would be a bit on an upleasant mouth-feel I think.

What temperature in the air fryer?

I have cooked belly pork, cut up into chunks, @colourPink, and it tasted lovely.
