I fear this may make me sound a bit of a wally but to cut a long story short....
I care for my grandad who doesn't live close by. I've arranged for hot meals to be delivered twice a week and he has home help go in once a week mid week. However weekends and a day in the week he has to fend for himself.
I use a slow cooker for my partner and I and have frequently thought about purchasing a 1-2 person crock pot and pre making grandad some meals to throw in himself when he wakes up.
My question is.... If I pre mix some slow cooker recipes how long will they keep in the fridge?? (Freezer isn't really an option)
If let's say I buy chicken thighs that have a 5 day use by date, does that date still apply if I've taken them out of the original packaging??
(In an ideal world I would pre mix, say, 3 meals for him to use over the course of a week use by date permitting)
Is this possible??
