URGENT - freezing Camembert

festivefoodlover2023 · 30/03/2024 07:41

I had some Camembert leftover at Christmas so put it in the freezer. I was thinking about making some bread and serving it with the baked Camembert for lunch on Monday. However, having done a quick google, some people say the taste changes and it will be unpleasant... is this true? Does anyone have any experience of baking Camembert that has previously be frozen at home (e.g. not the breaded frozen bites)? Do you bake straight from frozen?
TIA!

I think if baking it’ll be fine. The texture is what is likely to be impacted and baking it will solve that.

I think it’ll be fine, I’ve frozen Raclette before which isn’t too different and it was absolutely fine.

I've frozen those big bries and camemberts that they knock off after Christmas, to keep for hosting dinner parties. They're fine baked in my opinion. I tend to make slits for garlic and rosemary and drizzle some honey over the top prior to baking which makes a bit more interesting.
