I've been given a voucher to spend in COOK! What is really delicious from there?

@Goodwitch9 their curries are quite nice. It's my go-to for having some convenience food in the freezer for when no-one can be bothered/it's late etc. Portions aren't huge, although I feel the quality is pretty good.

mizu · 28/03/2024 14:25

Yes, agree the curries are great. They used to do a king prawn tikka masala which was insane but alas it got discontinued. The chicken one is lovely too though.

Glitterbiscuits · 28/03/2024 14:27

I like the nutroast!

idontlikealdi · 28/03/2024 14:31

I don't really rate them op, perfectly fine to eat and good quality but more of an emergency standby. Plus I think it's way overpriced. Sorry!

PickledPurplePickle · 28/03/2024 14:32

Curries and their chicken and mushroom lasagne

Helpful when someone has a voucher !

The vegetarian lasagne is fantastic.

Puddings are much too sweet for me though.

MotherofGorgons · 28/03/2024 14:34

I find their curries bland. Their veggie lasagne is good.

Tel12 · 28/03/2024 14:36

Vegetarian lasagne. Filo lattice. Desserts are excellent too. I think that they are a great alternative to eating out and good value.

Okokokokokplease · 28/03/2024 14:37

Absolutely love the chicken ham and leek pie …amazing!!

Agree!

The nut roast is delicious (not vegan though), veggie lasagne. The puddings & cakes are good quality, I rate them more than the savoury dishes.
Also the fully encased pies (££).

Goodwitch9 · 28/03/2024 15:00

Thanks everyone, forgot to say I'm veggie! On my list so far I've got veggie lasagne, nut roast and a couple of the curries to try. I'm taking dessert to a lunch on Sunday; which ones do people rate?

Their aubergine Parmigiana di Melanzane is really nice, and the mousaka and the lasagne. They are much better in quantity and quality than supermarket ready meals.

Really didn't like the Teriaki Rice with aubergine, and the portobello mushroom wellington tasted overwhelmingly of celeriac and has almost as much celeriac by weight in the ingredients list as mushroons so don't get that if you aren't a celeriac fan.

Chewbecca · 28/03/2024 15:11

Their Sticky Toffee pudding is gorgeous, plus I loved the mango cheesecake, unsure if they're still doing that one though.

Newestname002 · 28/03/2024 15:22

Their lasagne Al forno or Fish pie

Jasmin1971 · 28/03/2024 15:25

Veggie lasagne is great from there

mimosa1 · 28/03/2024 15:29

The chocolate birthday cake is gorgeous

This is what I would go for too.

I've never had a decent beef dish from them. Minimal meat, lacking flavour.

Any of the cheesecakes,are excellent.

My go to is the Yellow Thai Veggie Curry. Lovely with rice. In our house it's a cheaper (healthier) option to a takeaway.

Therealmetherealme · 28/03/2024 17:02

Ps The millionaire shortbread, defrosts quickly and is delicious.

dreadisabaddog · 28/03/2024 17:03

Lasagne or curry for sure. They saved my life when my youngest was born

DayAndAge · 28/03/2024 17:07

The French onion tart is a fave in our house. It's not always available though, think it's seasonal. I'm not a big pastry fan but this is crisp and delicious. Also like their tagine.

AngelsWithSilverWings · 28/03/2024 17:08

Chicken ham and leek pie is great but the steak and Merlot pie is amazing. The lamb tagine is nice too. Didn't enjoy the moussaka as much as my home made one and found the Charlie Bingham one nicer than the cook one.
