Trying to cut down the anount of red meat we eat, was wondering if anybody knew a veggie recipe that doesn't involve tofu or nuts?

TIA

oh god I wouldn't bother, really, with the shaping in to balls. Far too faux to be worth it.

How about a nice salad of roast pumpkin, and red pepper on a bed of baby spinach and rocket garnish with finely sliced red onion, toasted pinenuts and crumbled feta cheese with a good balsamic vinegar and honey dressing and some really great bread?

You can use your normal recipe but replace the mince with vegemince, rehydrated soya protein, or rehydrated sosmix. Or a mixture of both. I would also throw in a can of mashed chickpeas for lovely flavour and fibre, and to make it go further.

Remember that the veggie proteins aren't as glutinous as meat so you need to refridge for at least 20 min before shaping or they'll fall apart!
