What do you put in your vegetable risotto?

I've made mushroom risotto but not a vegetable one so just wondered what worked well. Also, do you tend to put your veg in near the start or further on in the cooking time? Thanks.

Inspired by this thread I'm doing asparagus and bacon lardon risotto this evening.

I guess I'll experiment a bit and find what I like. You've all come ups trumps with ideas.

I do a Mediterranean roast tomato one which was originally based on this:

But I add loads of garlic (I use the tubes because im lazy haha) and fresh chilli pepper at the same time as the onion, and chopped red pepper which I roast alongside the tomatoes (though they need longer, usually about 30-40 mins, so I add the tomatoes ten mins or so after the pepper). You could also just fry the pepper alongside the onion to make it easier, I just like the taste of roast red peppers a bit more!
