What does your sporty 9 year old boy eat?

DS9 is slim and very active. Interested to know what others cook for a 9 year old boy if he plays sport and doesn’t really sit down to play unless it’s a screen. Constantly burning off calories!

My very sport pre teen eats meat and carbs. I try to make sure he gets filled up on whole food not snacks which are empty calories. Fortunately he’s quite health conscious so doesn’t raid the snack cupboard toooo much.

He likes eggs too so will have scrambled egg when he gets in from school before he goes to training.

A lot of pasta!

He tends to be fussy and more of a grazer but he wolfs pasta down. He's not a potato lover (chips must have gravy and he even left a treat Maccy D's with chips just now).

Pasta with Pesto and a salmon fillet
Roast dinners
Sausage, chips and beans
fish fingers, mash and peas
spag bol
Mc Donald’s once a month
Pretty run of the mill meals.

Cereal for breakfast / snacks are apples, pears, crumpets, babybels and crackers. Only drinks water or milk.

He is naturally a slow eater. We eat together as a family 6 nights out of 7. DH eats so quickly. A full plate in 5 mins.
