Can I knead bread in kitchenaid?

Can you knead bread dough in a kitchenaid mixer or is the dough hook more for cookie doughs?

If you can how long should I knead it for and what speed?

I normally make a 1kg loaf of white bread.

Any help much appreciated! Don't want to damage my mixer.

For the price of it I half expect mine to cook it for me too.

Yes you can use it to knead bread dough.

I use it for flatbread, focaccia and pizza dough every week

Yes. The length of time would vary depending on the dough, but 4 minutes at medium would be good starting point for a basic dough, adjust speed if it seems too slow or fast. Enriched dough’s tend to need longer kneed. But be careful to not leave it unattended, on a quick speed with heavy dough the mixer can shuffle and you don’t want it to slowly creep forwards off the counter.
