I'm making a tomato chicken and chorizo dish with red pepper. Can I add chickpeas (I've never really used them before). Would I add them near the end (they are tinned) or do they take a while to cook?

If tinned they can be added quite late.

Tinned chickpeas are already cooked so you just need to add them at the end to warm them through

Tinned are cooked. Add them whenever you want.

You should be fine to add them at any stage, if you add them earlier they’ll absorb some flavour. I’ve had some tinned ones recently that haven’t been very well cooked, bit crunchy still, so best to try one first!
