How to use dried fruit/dried miniature figs please

Can anyone help me to make something delicious out of dried fruit please?
I recently had miniature figs in a spiced syrup which were delicious. I have found something similar online in a jar but they are a mad price.
Could I recreate the same thing using dried fruit?
Dried figs are very much less expensive and definitely worth a try, but I have no experience rehydrating anything except pasta, rice and beans. Is there a knack to it? I'm guessing that fruit are more delicate so can't just be soaked and boiled or just boiled?
Thank you

I think if you covered the figs in booze and spices and just lightly warmed them through, that could work and you could eat them warm or chill them.

I’d try a glass of red or some port, nutmeg and cinnamon and ginger, bit of sugar.

I agree about that approach. I think I'd be inclined to have a go at steeping them in some sort of alcohol or fruit juice or a mixture, plus spice, and let them marinate for at least a day before trying them. You could serve them with ice cream or mascarpone.

My mother in law has trees with figs and she normally just turns them into a jam, it is really easy to make.
