Costa newbie

Hi in my 30+ years I've never been to a Costa coffee. I'm going with my friend on Saturday for a chat and a catch up. I don't drink coffee I like fruity teas though. I've looked online at menus and the mango tea sounds nice but then it popped up with secret menus and things and I got confused and overwhelmed (I like to plan in advance what I want to order) what would you recommend to a Costa newbie. X

Is this for real.

I'm not a fan of fruit teas, but the peach iced tea is nice, if you like that?

I was eyeing up these on the menu last time I was in there, they look good.

I wouldn't go too off piste, with secret menus and stuff if I were you, not the first time you go, anyway!

The peach iced tea is very nice. They usually have peppermint tea as well if you want something hot. Im not sure all these secret menus are even a thing so stick with the menu. They are usually very helpful so if you're stuck do ask them.

I've just never been as I don't drink coffee and it's more of a coffee place.

It's more I kept seeing tik toks where they ask for extra pumps of things and certain mixes. Maybe overwhelmed wasn't the right word but I just like to have a plan before I go anywhere (possibly due to my autism) x

I see more of the extra pumps type content at Starbucks.
Stick to the tea or ice tea and you’ll be fine and not look like a newbie.

I have autism and always search menus too. 💐

The barista will also prefer that you order something straight forward like the tea so don’t worry.

I go to Costa fairly often and don't know about secret menus, so don't worry about that

You don't need to order extra anything though. Run of the mill menu is fine.

Sorry if I came across snarky there I was being a twat. I'm also autistic and fully understand researching a new place so I don't know why I was nippy. Sorry.

It's ok. I'm one of those people that need a plan and a back up plan so I overthink things allot.

I like the peach tea with a pump of strawberry syrup.

To be honest OP, the drinks which aren't straight coffee or tea just taste of sugar and water so if you like sweet things, it doesn't matter what you order - it's just sugary water.

The cakes are quite dry and unappealing, I think muffins aren't too bad, if you want a snack.

Peach iced tea. Very refreshing and not too sweet.

OP, you can’t go wrong with their peach iced tea.
forget the secret menus. The stuff they have on the menu is good enough.
I love the Mac and cheese they do too!

Mango bubble frappe but with coconut milk, delish

Don’t get bacon bap, sausage bap or mozzarella and tomato panini.

I recently got these in my To good to go bag, they were awful!!!

The refreshers are basically squash, I felt pretty ripped off when I ordered one.

If it's overwhelming it can be easier to choose a cold drink, they sell things like little bottles of tropicana orange juice

I had the apple and Rhubarb recently and it was lovely !
