I made the coffee cake recipe from preppy kitchen. It's got cinnamon running through it with a streusel topping. It's so good!

A Victoria Sponge every time. 🍰

Brownies

Easy and moist vanilla cake recipe I always make and people like (and I suck at baking):

4 pounds of butter or margarine
4 pounds of flour
4 pounds of sugar
2 eggs
A dash of milk

A drop of vanilla extract

Mix dry ingredients and wet ingredients separately
Incorporate
Put in the oven for 30 mins at 180°c

MissyB1 · 18/02/2024 15:08

@Namechangedty a pound? As in half a kilo? Have I got that right? Seems a lot 🤔

That recipe is ounces not pounds

Is pounds correct? That’s 1.8kg of butter sugar and flour. The cake would be about the size of a car 😂

Please don't follow this recipie!

Or if you do, replace the word pound with ounce.

4oz (100g) butter/flour/sugar and 2 eggs should work.

So sorry!! Meant to say 0.4 not 4

Carrot

What did you make, op?

This yoghurt cake is foolproof, moist (moelleuse en français) and you can add any flavours you like

JingsMahBucket · 18/02/2024 19:44

@NoCloudsAllowed that is a very easy looking recipe. I may try it with pears inserted instead of raspberries. Thank you for sharing it!

No probs. I used to make it with my toddler - if you can make it with a 2yo, it's an easy cake :)

Love the sound of this. When you have made it, have you just used the yoghurt pot to measure the other ingredients?

minipie · 19/02/2024 11:26

Late to the thread but can I just recommend Nigel Slater’s Double Ginger cake (can be found online, Guardian maybe).

So easy, delicious, keeps well and just a bit different.

IpanemaCaipirinha · 19/02/2024 11:30

I’ve made that French yogurt cake a lot in the past.

Day off today so I’m going to make a carrot cake, not my favourite but we have a lot of carrots in the house!

Sleeptastic · 19/02/2024 20:16

I made lemon drizzle!

Ginger next week but I think I'll do stem ginger with golden syrup. Always find the treacle ones a bit to intense!

minipie · 19/02/2024 20:19

The Nigel one is stem ginger (and ground ginger too)
