Fool proof recipe please but I dont have scales!

I use this one. Never use scales, use a measuring jug with the ml.

Good luck! Get your oven as hot as it goes and preheat the fat in the tins before you pour the batter in.

Oh also I always half it because there’s only two of us so two eggs etc. you’d get loads from
the full recipe if that’s what you want.

Comfysock · 18/02/2024 08:51

mug of milk
mug of flour
three eggs topped up with water to full mug

Usernamewassavedsuccessfully · 18/02/2024 08:52

I always do 7 heaped dessert spoons of flour, 1 egg, half pint of milk, makes 6 ish (muffin tin sized YPs)
One dessert spoon is about 10g so can do your usual recipe.

HerLadySheep · 18/02/2024 08:52

1 cup of eggs
1 cup of milk
1 cup of flour

Any size cup just so long as it's equal quantities of the three ingredients, works every time

gotellitonthemountain · 18/02/2024 08:53

Equal volumes of eggs, plain flour, and milk. For 6/8 people I used a normal sized mug as the volume. Measure the flour first, as then it won't get stuck on the egg/milk.

Leave it to sit for at least 30 minutes before cooking. Amazing Yorkshire xxxx

MandyMotherOfBrian · 18/02/2024 08:54

You don’t need to weigh anything. Just need equal quantities of flour, milk and eggs, that’s it. I use an old Cath Kidston mug that’s enormous, for when were all home, or a small cup if it’s just two of us. Make sure the oil is spitting hot and you’ll be fine.

Punxsatawnyphil · 18/02/2024 08:57

I use a mug. My recipe came from a student cookbook so no scales needed.
2 eggs
2/3 mug of flour
2/3 mug of water
1/3 mug of milk
Salt and pepper
I use lard in the tray/ pan to smoking point.

The original recipe called for 3 eggs but it was too much imo. This is enough for a big toad in the hole with 6-8 sausages for us 4.

kitchenhelprequired · 18/02/2024 09:28

Put eggs in a bowl/cup/jug and note where they come to - decant them into mixing bowl

Pour flour to same volume as eggs and decant

Milk to same volume as eggs and flour.

Add a pinch of salt

This.

When someone told me the equal quantity recipes, my yorkshire puddings were transformed (although I was slightly surprised at the quantity of eggs).

Also, heat the oil in the pan before putting the batter in, and cook in hot oven.

Thats more important than the exact recipe.
