Something to go with salad that's not bread

I'm making a lentil salad tonight and I would have paired this with a crusty bread in the past but I'm avoiding bread at the moment. Because of the lentils the salad is pretty filling but I think I'll still want something else with it, does anyone have any ideas?

Are you vegetarian? Because I would go with a chicken breast or something hearty to go with a salad - maybe stuffed Portobello mushrooms?

Oh yes, I'm vegetarian, I forgot to say.

Yes, I'm feeling pretty peckish already and it's only midday.

Falafel, baked sweet potato, cauliflour steak

roasted cauli, bhajis, bombay pots?

Ooh! Cauliflower steak! That's a good one!

Maybe ottolenghi baked celeriac if you have the time?

Baked sweet potato is a great call, thanks! I think I'll go for that 😀

Slice of grilled halloumi? Fried egg?

Those look delicious! Actually I saw some cheese "crisps" in M&S a few days ago but no doubt home made is better.

I'm googling the celeriac recipe for future reference, too.
