Birthday Cake for 1 year old, recipes or where I can buy one?

I was wondering if anyone knew if you could buy or make a cake suitable for a 1 year old to eat.

This probably sounds stupid, but I've never made a cake before and I know they're full of sugar so a sugar free alternative would be great (especially if I could buy it).

Thanks

but sugar is supposed to be in a cake!!!

I know people like to keep children as sugar free as possible, but a birthday can be healthy even with sugar in.

it is the icing tho which is the owrst stuff......especially the blue icing

for mine, on their first b/day, I made a dark chocolate rice crispie ring and filled the inner ring with little goodies.......little packets of dried fruit, mini eggs for my DD1 whose birthday is at easter and then they were given to older visiting children, little toys suitable for a tiny tot.

I know the choc has sugar, but if you use green and blacks, at least you are using decent choc, and the rice crispies aren;t sugar laden if they are the plain variety.

Sugar free stuff is often full of artificial sweeteners, with are a lot worse than sugar imo.

Get something from health food shop, sprinkle icing sugar over it and bung a candle on, if you're worried.

Exactly how much of the cake will you your one year old be eating anyway?

yeah, WT has a point.....you can eat the cake after your little one has spluttered all over it trying to blow the candle out!!!!

I made DD a simple lemon cheesecake and covered it in blueberries (her fav) - the kids and adults loved it!

Base is sugar + crushed digestives + butter
Cheesecake bit is equal volumes of double cream (lightly whipped) and condensed milk and fresh lemon juice.
