I never normally use it but have just made Nigella's Birthday Cake (for easter) (from the How to Eat book) and have about 150ml of condensed milk left. What can I do with it?

Don't know how the cake turned out yet - will update...

Mix with coconut milk to make wicked subsitute for custard.

Oooh! But then I'd have to go out and "source" coconut milk... so it's a possibility, but any other ideas?

Eat it with a spoon, straight from the tin, in front of good telly.

Add cocoa mix well, then add crushed cornflakes
Mix very well until quite dry
Use an eggcup to make a cake/mound
Let dry

Yummie

Each time I make Nigella's cake (a prerequisite in our house at birthday time!) I always wonder what to do with the leftovers! I think the answer is probably to make 2 cakes and freeze one.

But then I forget until the next time when I have the same dilemma all over again!

Loshad · 23/03/2008 16:09

provided it's not ne, eat straight from tin

BecauseImWoeufIt · 23/03/2008 16:11

way too many exclamation marks in that post.

should have thrown in a few huns as well.

snowleopard · 23/03/2008 16:45

Sorry I disappeared - been making the ganache, darlings

These sound great - I'm liking the fruit one especially - but as I'm so busy I have a feeling slur's brilliant idea may be what actually happens

oops I mean slur's fruity one and themoon's slightly simpler solution...
