i used to use Lurpak spreadable but have moved over to butter. Tried Kerrygold and Lurpak, which are Ok, but now got a Yorkshire one which I’m not keen on and has colouring in it.
What is your favourite butter that I should try?

We get whey cream butter at Booths sometimes. It's a bit cheaper but I have no idea how it differs!

drspouse · 17/02/2024 22:14

(otherwise, whatever is cheapest!)

I like the Yeo Valley organic and Waitrose Duchy organic salted. Also President. Haven’t tried the other French ones recommended here yet.

dementedpixie · 17/02/2024 22:15

We just use own make butter from the supermarket

GraceyDoodles · 17/02/2024 22:15

Lurpak or Norpak for the win.
My DH had bad cholesterol so we switched to Benecol and it's actually growing on me and I feel less bad slathering it on my toast.

Anchor spreadable.

KnickerlessParsons · 17/02/2024 22:35

Shirgar butter is the best IMO.

Anchor spreadable.

I’ve swapped to butter to avoid the seed oils in spreadable.

Kerrygold is amazing!

Viewfrommyhouse · 18/02/2024 07:28

The Aldi one with salt crystals is nice, or Tesco Finest with salt crystals.

Kerrygold is amazing!

I grew up on that, my dad wouldn’t have any other butter in the house 😊

MontyDonsBlueScarf · 18/02/2024 08:58

What are you using it for? I have unsalted high fat content butter for cooking and adding to baked potatoes etc. I don't use it for spreading because it doesn't spread. I have a non palm oil spread that I like the taste of for that. I wouldn't expect one butter to do every job the same way I wouldn't expect one type of oil to do every job.

Ohyeahwaitaminute · 18/02/2024 09:06

I tend to go for Kerrygold. I read that it’s much better for you to consume grass fed cows butter than ‘normal’ butter.
Other grass fed cows butter is available…

Waitrose French butter with sea salt is nice, I think it’s a stronger salt that I’m looking for.
