What to serve at 11am

What would you serve (mostly) 6 year olds at a party when the slot for eating will be 11am please? It is probably too early for a full on lunch so I’m a bit stumped.

Thanks!

"Children don't really do sandwiches"

Since when? 😅

Take a slow cooker and warm hot dogs in water up in it;serve in hotdog buns.

Standard party fare but don't overdo the quantity

I find some do eat sandwiches. But you think of the number of sandwiches you might need per person and make half.

It’s not at our house, so I can’t make pizzas - and I wouldn’t serve cold pizza.

Why not, kids love it.

Standard party food would be what I serve, sandwiches, crisps, fruit, veg sticks, biscuits and cake.

I've always just done jam or cheese sandwiches. Not fancy but little kids eat them and they are easy to assemble. Fancy doesn't get eaten and parties aren't the place for health food so just simple white bread, buttered with 1 filing and cut into little triangles.

Or fingers of sandwiches work quite well. Basic white bread, crusts cut off.

It doesn't all have to be beige food. Cherry tomatoes, cucumber, celery and berries always got eaten at our parties.

Thanks everyone. Looks like the consensus is to serve normal party food, so will make sandwiches and cut up some cucumber and carrots to add to the already planned items.

Still not convinced by the idea of serving cold pizza though!

There's nothing better, my kid takes it in his packed lunch!

We all love cold pizza! The kids used to request it instead of sandwiches for picnic lunches. It's a different 'product' than hot pizza, so don't compare them. It's like cheese & crackers vs a cheese toasty.

Anything except wraps!
Had an absolute disaster (a long time ago) when I'd made a load of wraps with ham and cheese and all of the kids looked at them like what the hell are these? We were eating them (from the freezer) for weeks afterwards!
What did get eaten though was the baguette 'snake' (slices with jam, no butter I think) arranged in a snakey shape.
Good luck OP!
