How would you feed DS8 on sports club night?

DS8 has started a sport 5:30pm - 7pm Monday nights.

He is hungry when he gets home from school at 3:45 as 'school dinners are tiny'.

Move the main meal to 4ish then it's not too heavy on his tummy before sport and he can have some toast/cereal when he gets back?

We do sandwiches at 4pm then something like pasta when home but we start earlier at 4.45

When mine were younger and had activities like that I just di light tea after school eg beans/egg on toast, pitta pizza, toasties with fruit and yoghurt. Then after activities id give milk with fruit and a biscuit or bowl of cereal. Basically the equivalent calories/meal just spread out.

We do substantial snack pre sports, and dinner after. But I try to make sure that whatever we're having for dinner is basically ready to eat as soon s we come in, particularly when it's for DD8.

We tend to do pitta bread and houmous when ours comes home, apple, biscuit, milk…the list goes on, and usually dinner afterwards. Ours does sports most evenings and is a bit older so gearing up for the teenage appetite. I just drip feed him food, really, trying to keep it healthy.

I did proper dinner at 4 - 5ish, still do, as dd is always so hungry from school. Then light like eggs on toast after sport.
