Watching Michael Mosley and have one of his books

As a child I used to like kippers for breakfast which is odd as I was very picky !

Seen his show today and dug the book out - kippers with roast tomatoes sounds rather nice

But the bones used to
Drive me bonkers ! Has anything changed or do I need to fork the meat if the bones still ! I think I might try them for a brunch - the bones are a real pain tho .....

I buy tinned and they don't really have any bones which would worry you, in my experience at least although I guess check what you're buying, although they're different from the smoked version I remember from when I was little ( the boil in the bag version with a little bit of added butter).
I would also recommend smoked mackerel.

Sainsburys do some nice kipper fillets,

Waitrose do lovely kipper 'fillets'. But unfortunately, they do still have a few tiny bones around the edge. They're the ones from the fresh fish counter, not the chilled shelves.
