Plain wholemeal flour

IIJM, or is this getting increasingly hard to source? Strong bread flour is everywhere, and a few years back, plain wholemeal was also commonplace. But now, Tesco don't have it, Asda don't have it... I tried searching my locality, and apparently Sainsburys have it. I don't like Sainos much, and it's over the other side of town, so I never go in there, but might have a look tomorrow.

Sainsbury's definitely sell it, as I've bought it from there. Allinson's & Dove also do one but it'll be more expensive.

Yes! I thought it was a before Christmas thing, but it has continued after Christmas at Tesco when most healthy stuff is back. Even the premium brands. Am just using strong wholemeal for everything.

Made the trip to Sainsburys and got a bag. But £2.30 for a kilo, when strong flour is much cheaper? Also was disappointed to notice when I got home that BB date was May 2024, which is pretty poor for a 'long-life' item like flour, I think. The one time I didn't check in the shop...

I never even look at the BBE date on flour! It's a BBE date, not a use by date. Plus I'm pretty sure you can freeze flour if needed.
