Bite sized crackers/toasts?

OMGitsnotgood · 17/01/2024 20:46

I've been trying to find some bite sized crackers as canapé bases but i'm struggling. Ditto the small square toasts you often find in French/Spanish supermarkets. I have access to all major Uk suoermarket chains. On this occasion I don't want to be making myself which I have done in the past using pitta bread but really need to buy this time due to time pressures.
Any suggestions please ?

Aren't they called Melba toasts?

Lidl’s have some little bruschetta toasts. Think they do a tomato one and a garlic one

The peters yard crackers aren't too big and are quite thin. I can definitely fit in mouth in one bite, but I am greedy! Can get them in tescos - don't know about other places.

I use mini oatcakes. Tesco has them and our local Lidl does too.

You need a deli, or a really good cheese shop

Thank you. The crostini type are usually too hard for what I'm after.
@MrsWimpy shop bought Melba toast would be fine but I've never seen the mini ones in this country.
Oatcakes would be ok for me but I know a lot of people don't like them so would rather avoid.
Deli/cheese shop probably best bet but we don't have one very near us, will try phoning the two I'm aware of and ask.
Thanks again

I’ve you’ve a Home Bargains near you, they often have packs of mini Melba Toasts. Alternatively, you can get them on Amazon

My Tesco's has a little self serve deli bit with some more interesting cheeses, olives, charcuterie etc (it's not in the regular cheese isle) and there they have lots of different canapé size crackers/toasts/breadsticks etc.
