Chicken Stroganoff Recipe please

Looking at the slow cooker version on BBC and Bored of lunch but there's a lot of people saying it didn't taste great, not enough mustard or other things.

Does anyone have a fail safe recipe I can use please? Thank you.

I have never seen a chicken stroganoff, presumably you would use onions, garlic, mushroom and paprika as per a beef stroganoff?

The BBC Good Food one (not slow cooker) is excellent and so easy. Foolproof recipe!

(You can always alter to taste and add a bit more mustard to the final sauce if you enjoy a stronger taste.)

This is the one I was planning on doing, several people saying it wasn't that great. I'll give it a whirl though!

I made the BBC good food recipe earlier this week. It was delicious! I used chicken thighs.

I've personally never made a chicken stroganoff, but I think it's one of those things that you just need to taste and season as you go. When it tastes bland - it usually needs more salt/spices/acidity, so just add a bit more of those.

That being said, stroganoff is not really something I'd cook in a slow cooker. It's quite a quick cooking sort of recipe, and chicken in a slow cooker, if it's diced chicken/strips (instead of whole bone-in pieces), tends to get a weird mushy texture. I'd skip the slow cooker as shouldn't really take more than about 30 minutes to cook anyway and just season accordingly if you need to.

One thing that I think all stroganoff needs though besides fresh parsley and lemon is tiny slices of gherkin when you serve it. The acidity of the lemon and the gherkin really lifts the dish.

I do Delia’s ‘pork stroganoff with 3 mustards’ with chicken breast instead. It’s lovely!

Im off milk. Can anyone advise if this would taste ok with a milk substitute- coconut milk or something?

This recipe is amazing! Totally delicious. I can't remember where I screenshot it from, but it's so good!
