Hello! LO is one on Wednesday and we're having the grandparents over. It's nothing fancy or formal but I'd like to do a proper old-fashioned tea party. Trouble is I'm not quite sure what to serve other than sarnies. Does anyone have any bright ideas please?

My sil always puts on a great spread when her dcs have birthday tea parties, because all the grandparents and aunts and uncles are invited.

She normally includes quiche, little vol au vents, sandwiches, homemade pizzas, olives, pickled gherkins, crisps and dips. Then the birthday cake of course.

Of course, wine, champagne or beer or even cocktails, but that's more dbil's department.
