This might sound a bit dramatic as I know it is only about mealtimes but I am feeling so low at the prospect of another year of having to navigate meals in my home given everyone's requests. DH is vegetarian and whilst he eats fish, does not eat mushrooms, olives or nuts (which are in a lot of veggie recipies). DD is veggie and does not eat fish. DS says he doesn't like cheese and is generally fussy. I am the only one who will eat pretty much everything and planning meals is so hard.

I feel so over planning and sorting meals as feel it is never straightforward. Has anyone got a similar set up and can share some words of wisdom? At times last year I let it really frustrate me. Being pre-menopausal probably exasperated how I feel about it - but still - any thoughts or helpful advice would be amazing.

Thank you

What would they do if you told them to make the meal plan?

Just abdicate all responsibility for it and tell them that they need to put their heads together and work out at least 10 meals that all of them will be willing to eat without whinging if you cook them.

Simple possibilities would be

  • pasta bake in a tomato sauce, each adds their own cheese to personal taste
  • bean chilli
  • bolognese using quorn or the like
  • tofu stir fry
  • baked potatoes with toppings

How would you feel about DH cooking.
I am quite fussy so that is why I do the cooking
It is easier if the one that is picky cooks that way you all get something you like.

If you dislike what he cooks can you all just make your own?
