Bought a whole leg of lamb when they were on offer. Would like to cook it for lunch on New Year's Day. How long will it take to defrost?
Thank you Smile

At least 24 hours. I don’t usually defrost them in the fridge but the pantry is fairly cold. I leave it about all day then stick it in the fridge in the evening

I’d get it in the fridge now - we did a leg of lamb last week and it was barely defrosted at all after 24 hours in the fridge, we ended up having to defrost it out in the counter for a few hours in the end.

We had one for Xmas day. I took it out on Saturday night, left it overnight then put it in the fridge. It was perfect .

nothing ever defrosts in my fridge. I’d leave it on the counter 24 hours before you want to start cooking

I had one for Xmas day so took it out Saturday evening and stuck it in the fridge. Sunday left it out all day in cool room and popped it back in the fridge over night. Xmas morning left it out for a few hours and was perfect to cook.
