Cooking for my parents and looking for delicious main course ideas for us. We are all meat eaters. I'm not a fan of fish. Something special but that won't break the bank or take too long to cook.

We’re doing a Spanish theme…. chicken and chorizo paella with some tapas items/picky bits to start.
There are loads of easy recipes online for it. HTH.

Beouf Bourgignon with dauphinoise potatoes. Easy, impressive and most people love it.

Roast lamb? I'm doing it curried!

Roast duck and pancakes. Very easy if you get ready made one. Goes very well with a sparkling wine.

I’m doing Ottolenghi pork belly with oranges and star anise. It does take a long time to cook but not much input from the cook. Seems quite seasonal. Hope it works out.

I can recommend the Massaman lamb shanks from Recipetineats which is beyond easy (uses a jar of massaman curry paste) and delicious. Again it does take a long time to cook but hardly any effort. Also recommend her Short Ribs with Red Wine recipe - I’ve done it with red wine and with stout instead, both were delicious, I prefer the stout version. Again long cooking but little effort.

If you need something quicker cooking then this chicken recipe gets lots of good reviews although does require a few specific ingredients https://www.panningtheglobe.com/ottolenghis-roast-chicken-zaatar-sumac/.

Ottolenghi's Roast Chicken with Za'atar and Sumac

An amazing roast chicken recipe from Ottolenghi. A great dinner party recipe that you can prep ahead. Beautifully spiced chicken with fantastic flavors!

Duck breast with a sauce - orange, plum, cranberry; mini roasts and some green veg. Delicious.

I’m doing Nick Nairn’s roast lamb and dauphinois on NYD. Cooked for 5 hours with a red wine glaze. Saw it on TV over Christmas, looked amazing.
