Why can't I cook a quiche from frozen?

I froze a quiche the other day, took it out to defrost but still frozen. It says defrost thoroughly before cooking. How come some things can be cooked from frozen and other things can't?

I guess it may get burnt on the outside before the inside is thoroughly cooked through/at a suitable temperature to ward off any bugs.

I’ve often wondered this myself when pretty sure you can buy frozen quiche, I have frequently cooked from frozen despite instructions otherwise, tend to do it at a slightly lower temperature and for longer.

I cook quiche from frozen on a regular basis. It’s fine

Its fine. Start it in a cold oven so it gradually defrosts and cooks. Cook for longer than the packet says. Check the temperature in the middle with a probe or point of a knife.

That's what I wondered as you can buy frozen quiche or pizza and out it in the oven from frozen.
