How to use pistachio cream but not baking.

I've been bought some pistachio cream and it tastes lovely but need some ideas how to use it. Not really fancying it as a spread and I'm trying to cut down on sweet treats so rather not do any baking. Has anyone any great ideas?

What a nice present. Do you have an ice cream maker? I bet it would make a great ice cream, either in a machine or just popping it in the freezer and taking it out to stir up every few hours.

Great idea, Ive not got an ice cream maker but I'll have a look at some recipes.

All my ideas would involve it as a spread or baking, not sure how many other ways you can use it tbh!

Traditionally it would be used much like Nutella, in a pastry or croissant. I’ve also used it mixed into custard and cream to fill profiteroles.

Edited

I guessed as much, I'm just trying to cut down on the calories after Christmas, but also don't want it to go to waste.

https://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/no-churn-ice-cream - this one for your ice cream minus the vanilla extract. Just fold the spread into it.

I find it best to eat in a week or it starts to crystallise😊

How much of the pistachio would you put in, or just to taste?

Turning it into ice cream should work well. Or another idea is using it as a dip with fresh fruit such as strawberries or sliced banana.
Or using it instead of cream to make a Pineapple Romanoff.
Or spooning onto breakfast granola?

You can always bake something then freeze in portions?
Savoury options, sub for pinenuts in pesto, or mix with breadcrumbs and herbs etc to make a coating for fish/meat?

@FluffActually

I could be wrong but I'm sure pistachio cream is sweet (like nutella but made with pistachios) and not suitable for savoury recipes.

I came on to say the same. It's designed for sweet treats like pastries, or spread on toast. I don't think it would do a savoury recipe any favours.

Lol. Maybe we're the ones missing out on pistachio cream cod or pork chops. Could be the start of a new trend.

😁. I would be interested to know if there are any nice savoury recipes. Nigella does a ham in Coca Cola so you never know!

It's definately sweet, too sweet to use in savoury dishes I would think.

Sorry! I've only ever had the unsweetened kind <<slinks off>>

Try Googling "pistachio cream uses".

Coffee! I adore pistachio coffee, the coffee shops seem to put a spoonful on the bottom and sides of a cup and then pour the coffee in. I love it. I keep meaning to get some pistachio cream and try it at home.

Ooh, I am going to try this tomorrow morning!

I got some for Christmas too!

My plan was to eat it from the jar...
