New Year’s Eve ideas

Hello all

Hosting dinner for 4 on NYE and hoping for some inspiration! Probably a main and dessert with just posh nibbles to start. We like cooking but have small kids so won’t have totally hands free time to prepare - so anything that can just sit on the hob is a bonus! No dietary requirements.

for dessert I was thinking maybe panettone bread and butter pudding which is a failsafe for me this time of year, but maybe it’s a bit stodgy if we are planning to stay awake for midnight (in itself a challenge :-) )

thanks in advance!

similar idea to PP I have been eyeing up this prawn lasagne for a while as I have heard rave reviews. I love Ixta for entertaining as I find her food indulgent and interesting, but still accessible both in preparation and flavour profiles.

Ixta Belfrage's Prawn Lasagne with Habanero Oil

As mentioned on Ottolenghi's episode of Off Menu, Ixta Belfrage's Brazilian prawn lasagne is packed with flavour.

Oo thanks lovely ideas!! Love the twist on lasagne which we make a lot. Hadnt come across Ixta belfrage but wow loads of her stuff looks yum! Wondering if habenero chilli is hard to get but could just do flakes.

and @Forgottenmyphone you’ve reminded that good housekeeping has a ton of good recipes!
