Lollipop meal boxes/planning

We've been ordering Gousto boxes for over a year but they've become more and more expensive and the recipes are a bit samey now. Has anyone used Lollipop? Looks interesting. We're mostly vegetarian, if that makes a difference. I like that you don't need to include items you already have and can substitute brands.

I did. For a little while. But it's Sainsbury's and we got a lot of substitutions (which depends entirely on your local store). Plus we had quite a bit of food waste - I like how with Gousto and Hello Fresh you get the right amounts.

So after a trial, we stopped.

Thanks @JanuaryBauble . I like the pre-measured portions from gousto so you don't need to buy a whole bottle of something we'll hardly use but it does make it expensive.

I've been using lollipop for over a year now and love them. I don't get many substitutions and have far less food waste than I used to.

They are changing their name to cherry-picked though so you might need to look for that.

I’m a big fan of Lollipop and have been for a while. There’s no ‘delivery box’ though - essentially you’re doing a Sainsbury’s order but basing it around the recipes you select. You can add your own recipes to your account too, which is great.

I do think the previous point about which store your deliveries come from is important- I’ve had a delivery pass for many many years and know that I seldom get substitutes which are unsuitable, so that doesn’t bother me.

I think it can reduce food waste if used properly and is better than lots of fiddly wee packets of ingredients.
