Freeze Pigs in Blankets

Just had my shopping delivered and included the pigs in blankets for my Christmas dinner. Both bacon and sausage usually have really long dates so it didn't occur to me there would be any problem. What's more, pigs in blankets are of course fairly strongly associated with Christmas lunch and this pack also coincidentally happens to have "Christmas" emblazoned across the front.

They have a use by of the 22nd 😡

They do say they can be frozen but I'm not sure if this might affect the quality - I'd happily freeze sausages but not bacon so not sure if they'll be ok or not? Would it be better to freeze them raw or cooked? Or should I just call my family and tell them we're moving Christmas forward three days...? Thanks for any advice!

Yes, bacon freezes just fine. I usually put extra packs of pigs in blankets in the freezer to have later in the year on random Sundays.

They’ll be fine. The bacon feels a bit wetter when it thaws but cooks just the same.

i always have some in my freezer!

Oh perfect, thank you both - maybe I'm getting a little dramatic about nothing then... must be Christmas! Just chuck them in raw and defrost before cooking? Can probably manage that :)
