Hit me with your Christmas party nibble recipes. Catering for about 50 and have time to pre make/freeze.

If you want to include some Vegan sausage rolls, Richmond Vegan sausages, in Jus-Roll puff pastry. My set in his ways Dad didn't even notice it's not meat! Add some whole grain mustard on some, cranberry in others. Really good and easy!

Smoked salmon and horseradish pate with melba toasts or similar

I make this Jamie Oliver one every Christmas for elevenses on Christmas morning. It's meant to be made with trout, but they don't sell smoked trout at our local supermarket, so I use hot smoked salmon instead. It's always a huge hit and very moreish. You could easily make it the day before.

Hot artichoke spinach dip is also a huge hit in our house and I make it about once a month. Also serve with toasts.

And pigs in blankets, no fuss, just normal ones from the shop, nice and hot.

This cold and creamy smoked trout pate with horseradish is amazing served with hot crispy soft baby Yorkshire puddings; a brilliant contrast .

Crostini with Brie and cranberry
Little crackers topped with caramelised onion chutney, blue cheese and walnut
Mini bamboo antipasti skewers, thread a small roll of salami/chorizo, cube of cheese and an olive
Similar with a prawn and chorizo
Or chicken tikka, cucumber and mango, I serve these accompanied by a bowl of mini popodoms and raita.

These breadsticks are wonderful. You can bake for an initial 8 minutes, freeze and then cook from frozen for another 8 minutes and they just as good as freshly made.

And I’ve probably recommended these a hundred times, both in here and in real life this year, but the Ottolenghi pigs in blankets with maple and pomegranate molasses glaze are truly wonderful and they are so simple to make. They’ve been a favourite everywhere I’ve served them with both adventurous and more conservative eaters.

Nothing hot! With 50 to cater for you will be by the oven all the time which isn’t fun and gets very hot.

It’s hard to go wrong with a cheese and a veg on a thing eg

stilton with pear on a crostini drizzled in honey

cream cheese mixed with garlic dill lemon inside a hollowed out cucumber and sliced up into pieces

mozzarella with tomato and basil drizzled with balsamic syrup on a stick

blue cheese fig and walnut on a chicory leaf or toasted baguette slice

can go feta, halloumi, manchego with celery, radish, gherkin - list is endless. Any drizzle do at the last minute eg honey etc
