Air fryer question

I'm doing roast beef this evening and want to try it in the air fryer.

Do I still need to sear the meet or do I just season and bung it in?

I do small roasts in the Airfryer by preheating to fully hot on my highest setting (240degC I think) and searing it in that for a few minutes before turning the AF down.

yes I sear it although I steam roast it I'm not sure if that's a function on your fryer.

I dont bother searing it. I just put it straight into the air fryer.

I just put it in the basket with a bit of water and some seasoning..... perfectly cooked beef every time. I take the rack out first obvs x

I tried it with a small pork joint, not a great success.
The meat juices dripped through the mesh & burnt on the bottom, so nothing to make proper gravy. (Lots of muttering from DH about scrubbing the basket.)
The meat was OK, just glad I did it with cheap pork rather than beef.
