Delta's mincemeat emergency!

I have just made Delia's mincemeat for the first time. Mixed it all and it's ready to sit in a cool place for 12 hours. However just note that she says to cover with clean cloth. I don't have one! All my tea towels are dirty. Can I cover with cling film or does it need to be a cloth for some reason?

Cling film will be absolutely fine

A cloth would let some air out so I wouldn't seal completely with cling film, I would use a clean pillowcase, hand towel or something like that.

I've always used foil. It's not breathable in the way cloth would be, but not as tight as cling film.

Film and stab some holes in the top, replace with cloth when you've had a chance to wash them
