Does Thai green curry get hotter than the sun after freezing?

Two questions! I made a batch of Thai green curry using paste from the local Asian food store. It was spicy at the time, but on defrosting and reheating it’s burning my taste buds off. Is that a thing that happens?

And, second question. It’s too bigger portion with rice now. If I put the rest in a Tupperware in the fridge and take it to work to reheat for lunch tomorrow will that be ok? Or am I better to have it cold out of the fridge? It’s chicken btw. Thanks!

Freezing always intensifies the heat in spicy food.

You can add some plain yoghurt to cool it down a bit. I wouldn't reheat it twice.

Thanks! That’s good to know about things getting spicer after freezing. I’m actually eating my through it quite happily now so I don’t think they’ll be any left for tomorrow.

Oh I didn’t realise that about spice! Will need to watch it in my batch cooking.

Personally I would reheat it twice if it was just for me but I’m a bit cavalier and have a cast iron stomach.

Just saw you are eating it anyway!
