Has anyone ever made a caramel cake?

Trying to come up with an idea for DP’s birthday cake that he’ll like and which will please the majority of the household….. I like the idea of a caramel cake, with some sort of buttercream and drip. Has anyone ever made one and if so, is there a recipe you’d recommend?

What about a caramel mud cake? I made one years ago. Not sure if this is the recipe I used, but gives you an idea:

I’ve made this one before bit there’s a non gluten free version too. I’d really recommend Italian meringue buttercream over American. It’s silky smooth and far less sweet.

Thank you - @Hedonism , the Jane’s patisserie one is one I looked at online. Good to know her recipes turn out super sweet! I may end up combining a cake from one with frosting/icing from another recipe.
