Marzipan a year out of date. Would you?

I'm tempted.

It's unopened, mainly sugar, and it's a best before, not use by date

I was only going to add to a recipe, not use for Christmas cake.

Would you?

Yes I’ve used it out of date, as you say it’s mostly sugar!

Yes - it can go a bit hard and crumbly but it doesn't go off. You can re-soften it with a couple of drops of almond oil.

If it's the right colour when you open it, and you are cooking it in a recipie, yes, I'd use it.
I suspect you'd struggle to roll it out, but crumbled or grated into something should be fine.

If it tastes fine, you can use it. You can add a little golden syrup to it to soften it up.
