Using Frozen cream to make ice cream

Bad move right?

I want to use up some frozen double cream and wondered about using it to make no churn ice cream but then I’d be defrosting it to freeze it again. Presumably this is a no no?

You froze cream?

Yes, I use cream that has been frozen it all the time in cooking but never to freeze again as ice cream

Doesn't it separate badly? I think the double freeze would be a no no.

You used to be able to buy frozen sticks of double cream, but I haven’t seen that around for years. It's fine to freeze cream. Personally I wouldn't thaw it, use it and freeze again though. Risk of bugs.
