Garlic in oil - help!!

So my daughter loves the garlic cloves in oil you get from the supermarket, eats them straight out the jar and in salads

i had the bright idea to make my own, so put some oil in a jar, garlic cloves and mixed herbs.

just done a google to see how long it needs to sit so it’s not ‘spicy’!!! Only to find articles that it’s not safe and can cause botulism!

is this true? How do I make it so it’s safe? Do I need to throw what I made Sunday?

she has emetephobia so I’m scared of telling her as she’s just not into one to see how it’s progressing!

From memory, the botulism concern is if the jar is not sterilised? I think if you search online you will find ways to.ensure it's OK.

I recall similar warnings re confit garlic when I made it myself so I used a jar I had cleaned and sterilised.
