Food safety question - can I freeze this?

I have just made a bolognese sauce with some leftover uncooked beef mince that I had frozen and today defrosted before cooking with it. There’s far too much sauce for tonight’s dinner - is it ok to freeze some, or is that not safe to do cos the mince has been frozen before? I’d welcome advice 😊

If you have cooked it, it’s fine to freeze again.

WolfFoxHare · 17/10/2023 17:24

I think it’s fine because it was raw before and now it’s been cooked.

You’ve basically just batch cooked and now freezing 😐

totally fine

hotchocdrinker · 17/10/2023 17:25

Yes, fine to freeze. You can freeze raw, then freeze again once you've cooked it.

Yup I do this all the time and have done for decades. No problem with it at all.

viques · 17/10/2023 17:27

Perfectly fine to freeze.

LeefsPrings · 17/10/2023 17:35

Totally fine, it is cooked.

You're not supposed to thaw something and then re-freeze again if it is still raw.

Thanks so much everyone, I needed that reassurance 😊
