Decaf tea recommendation

beautifulbrothers · 17/10/2023 13:26

I'm breastfeeding and love a cuppa, but PG Tips seem to have changed their decaf blend.

Any recommendations for a refreshing cup of decaf? I like a strong brew, drop of milk. Nothing too fancy - teabags only, please.

Definitely Yorkshire Tea

Violet1988 · 17/10/2023 13:35

I like Tesco's own brand decaf tea. I was skeptical but it's actually lovely. However tea preferences is very personal to the individual so you could hate it.

Violet1988 · 17/10/2023 13:36

But anyway breastfeeding doesn't mean you have to drink decaf tea anyway.

lenalove · 17/10/2023 13:36

I'm pregnant at the moment and have been living off M&S Earl Grey decaf!

beautifulbrothers · 17/10/2023 13:43

Thank you! I've heard good things about Yorkshire Tea. My SIL has just converted my MIL.

Thank you! We don't have a Tesco locally, but I might swing by next time I'm nearby. I know I don't like Aldi, Sainsbury's or Morrisons own-brand, but willing to give it a try!

Another vote for Yorkshire Tea from me. I find it the closest in taste to real tea. So many decafs don’t have the right flavour.

Weepingskies · 17/10/2023 13:49

Yorkshire tea for me too - love it!

WeirdPookah · 17/10/2023 13:49

Morrisons own brand was good.... edit oh see you didn't like it.

beautifulbrothers · 17/10/2023 13:49

I do occasionally drink a caffeinated tea, especially if we're out and about. I easily drink 6+ cups a day though!

Yorkshire.
I found M&S decaf to taste a bit weird.

beautifulbrothers · 17/10/2023 13:52

Thank you anyway! I didn't like it a year or more ago - maybe they changed their blend for the better. I'm going to work my way through the recommendations.

I have been very happy with Tescos decaf. However I am not an expert!

Butterkist8 · 17/10/2023 14:30

I tried some Twinings Decaff recently as it was on offer.
Never again, tasted soapy and had a strange aroma.

I like Tesco's own decaff tea at the moment.

Rodders92 · 17/10/2023 14:31

I like the yorkshire de-caff the best too

JPduck · 17/10/2023 14:40

My vote is for tesco decaf and i like 'Rooibos' tea with a drop of milk - lots of flavour and is naturally decaf

Niknak77 · 17/10/2023 14:41

Yorkshire tea vote here too.

UniversalTruth · 17/10/2023 14:42

Clipper decaf gets my vote.

cupofdecaf · 17/10/2023 14:58

I tried most of them, as my username may suggest. Yorkshire tea is the best.

Thisisme23 · 17/10/2023 15:01

The decaff version of Twinings Everyday is good.
Also I like Earl Grey so I'd go for tesco's finest Earl Grey decaff.

RavenT · 17/10/2023 15:03

Yorkshire DeCaf is good.

I got some Lichfield DeCaf teabags recently as a gift, and they were also really nice. Quite a mild taste, but very drinkable and refreshing.

LeefsPrings · 17/10/2023 15:04

We have normal Tetley and their decaf version, and they taste identical to me.

lalalalooby · 17/10/2023 15:07

Another vote for Tesco own brand here. It makes a strong brew and has a slightly biscuity taste.

Ohyeahwaitaminute · 18/10/2023 11:09

Yorkshire Tea for me

Diplidocus4 · 18/10/2023 11:14

Yorkshire is the only nice decaf I've found .
