Christmas baking recipes for school fair

I’d like to make some Christmas-themed bakes for the school fair and so I’m looking for some relatively easy recipes please (must be nut-free).

I’d like to make the baking quite festive, but nothing too complicated or needing a huge list of ingredients, so perhaps decorated gingerbread biscuits, traybakes with icing and Christmas-themed edible decs etc.

I have a couple of Christmas recipe books but the recipes are more appealing to adults I think, or seem complicated.

I'm making cake pops decorated with Rolos on top to look like baubles, got some edible glitter from Hobbycraft which will go great!

Get a gingerbread man cutter with legs apart to make reindeer faces.



Gingerbread men biscuit recipe but use Christmas shaped cutters so you get more biscuits. We have stars, santas, stockings, all sorts.

We also make these which are dairy free, very popular with kids and look Christmassy due to all the icing sugar: Chocolate crinkles

We used to make top hats - melted choc, marshmallow on that, melted choc on top of marshmallow then smartie on top.

I always suspect that the cake ingredients cost more than the cakes actually raise at these things!

I make the base for these and add dried cranberries and orange zest, chocolate if you wish. Had lots of compliments as usually biscotti is out of bounds for many with allergy.

They are very easy to make. They are aimed at the adults more than the children.

Sponge traybake with basic red or green icing and similar Xmas sprinkles

I once made fairy cakes with the top cut off to butterfly them, and put buttercream and home made cranberry sauce on them, then replaced the "butterfly " pieces.They are very colourful, red and white on top of the cakes.

Shortbread with sugar on top! Only 3 ingredients and so tasty

Cup caked topped with fondant icing rolled and cut out in Xmas tree shape with mini smarties as baubles. Dip in jam to make them stick.
