Initially when we got those in our box I wasnt too keen till I found this receipe and have even ordered them from the extras list!

Anyway the receipe:

Garlic and Jerusalem Artichokes soup

Wrap a bulb in foil and slow roast in the oven till all cloves are soft (aprrox 30min)

Heat knob of butter and some olive oil fry (medium) 1 onion, 1 leek (white only) 1 celery stick (obvious all cut up finely)for about 10 minutes add 750 gr of j. artichokes and one small potato (again all peeled and diced)plus squeeze out the soft garlic flesh from all cloves and fry another 10 minutes

Add 1.5 litre of veg. stock and boil for another 30 minutes and whizz!

Tastes delicious with few drops of olive oil garnish with chives!

Any other good receipes using them (other then composting them)?

DP grows them. I can't stand them. They taste of burnt plastic, and everything you've heard about farting is true.

Anyway, DP roasts them and deep-fries them like chips. They're still disgusting.

We had a glut of them and we couldn't give them away.

The only good thing about them is that I won a competition with a poem I wrote about one aged 10.

yes agree they do taste like plastic sometimes smells but the soup is delicious (probably the garlic that disguises the taste..)
