I have an electric mixer bought years ago. The only attachment I have is this - I understand these are supposed to be beaters, can they also be used for whipping cream and egg whites?

They are perfectly okay for whipping cream or egg whites, I remember my mother using them in her mixer more than sixty years ago.

Whipping is beating, when it comes to food anyway!

@Garman I thought whipping was for things like eggs whites and beating for egg yolks so wasn’t sure you could use the same tool

That's the attachments I have for my hand mixer and I use them for cake mixes, whipping cream and making frosting
