Baking stall at school fair? Any ideas?

Hello!

I am a hobby baker; love making cookies and brownies mostly.

My sons school EPA just sent an email out saying if anyone would like a stall at their Christmas fair, then to let them know. It's £25.

Has anyone done this before? Would I need a food hygiene certificate?

I would love to do it, I keep thinking about the idea of taking my hobby a little further and thought this might give me a little insight!

Thank you! 🎂

I am fairly certain that a stall at a PTA event would not require additional hygiene certficiates etc. But longer term, if you wanted to turn it into a proper business it might. I'm not sure.

It's an interesting way to test it out. But bear in mind that you need a decent volume of items to sell otherwise it's pointless - and you'll lose money.

Our PTA would 100% want a food hygiene certificate - allergens and cross contamination are a massive concern these days.
