OK - whats the point of putting half a portion of beans in a yoghurt pot?

Cos I just don't get it.

Plastic pot - I quite like - cos you can bung it straight in microwave, but 1/2 a portion

And why what is essentially a bloody yoghurt pot.

I did when I saw the advert but is it half a portion? What weight? Looked like about half a tin which is a portion surely?

SlightlyMadSecretSoundWinner · 03/03/2008 22:23

I dunno looked like 1/4 of a tin to me which depenidng on wether I am having beans on toast or egg chips and beans is between 2/3 - 1/2 a portion.

its the size of the small tin of beans (200g I think). It is just right for me to share with ds for our beans on toast. Luckily dd doesnt like beans or one tub wouldnt be enough!!

foofi · 03/03/2008 22:26

I think these pots are excellent! DD likes beans on toast and they're just the right size for a one-person portion, and there's no washing up or tin-opening required.

foofi · 03/03/2008 22:27

Thing is, they don't yet do them in the low sugar, low salt varieties.

SlightlyMadSecretSoundWinner · 03/03/2008 22:28

Fair commet apparently a snap pot is 200g and a big tin is 415g.

buy the tins with a ring pull (so no tin opener), heat it up in a mug and rinse the mug with cold water afterwards. The tin can be recycled unlike the plastic pot. Rinsing out a mug isn't that difficult is it?! I'm a slut I think it isn't much work it can't be!

Are they a lot more expensive than a tin or not?

Seona1973 · 04/03/2008 12:25

the plastic pot is recyclable (although my council doesnt do kerbside collections for any recycling other than paper or garden waste)

ruddynorah · 04/03/2008 12:33

i like them. just right for sharing with dd, i don't like loads of beans. the pot then goes in the reycling.

Kewcumber · 04/03/2008 13:44

my council will only recycle plastic bottles.
