Innovative ideas for breadmaker

I recently bought a Panasonic and have been making some nice loaves but I thought there must be some other things outside the limited book it comes with! Any ideas for cakes for some interesting cakes

i’m pretty lazy so would prefer an all in recipe but if there’s something that needs baking in the oven I could manage that!!

I've not got one but my mum used to make lots of pizza dough and cinnamon rolls using the bread maker. Used it to get to the risen dough stage then it would go in the oven once the toppings/cinnamon sugar had been added.

I once tried a bread machine jam recipe and had to buy a new pan so I don't recommend that.

Mine has a jam setting but I’ve not tried it and probably won’t now!

pizza dough also sound interesting

The first hour or two in the breadmaker is just making and rising the dough in a warm machine. After that, you can shape and do what you like with the dough and bake in the oven. I have a stand mixer, so use that, and the breadmaker is just for loaves. Sometimes, in the winter, I'll do dough in the breadmaker to speed up rising. Today, I made a batch of dough for pizzas and paninis and it was climbing out of the bowl before I had a chance to get everything else ready.

If you haven't got a stand mixer, I'd use the breadmaker for any dough you want to bake: pizzas, brioche dough for buns for burgers and pain au chocolat, rolls, flat breads, baguettes, garlic bread ...

I guess I wanted something that would bake in the Breadmaker too. Like interesting loaf cakes or stuffed breads maybe?

I’d love to make a banana bread but that recipe is bake only and I may as well use the oven at that point!

The ginger cake in the Panasonic book is excellent, added chopped stem ginger and some of the syrup. The cake improves after a day or two, it’s outstanding.

I've done the ginger cake from the leaflet in the apanasonic, it bakes fine, but took half as long again to cook through.
you can get some good bread machine recipe books that will give you ideas. Mine has sections on veg breads, sourdough, bread from around the world, sweet bbreads etc.
i also do my pizza dough in it (try and get pizza flour, it makes a huge difference).

@Bruisername there’s loads of banana bread recipes for bread makers online.

I can’t find one that’s all in and doesn’t involve yogurt! Will have a proper go looking tonight!

I gave away my breadmaker because I found that I could make better bread by hand and only needed to be a bit more organised than I am only nature!

The only thing I really miss is making pizza dough on the timer- it was brilliant for that.

This book is good. I like the spiced almond and apricot bread.

I do too. If you like Sorreen (and my whole family does) then you can make that very nicely in the bread maker. I can find my recipe if you want it. I think it came in the book I got with my Panasonic years ago.
