Give me Picnic Inspiration

Well, as the title suggests really. 😆

Planning a picnic tomorrow. Just going to a local NT with DH and DS (14, will eat anything?) Just a day with books, food, drink and a nice walk.

But, I'm wondering what are we missing out on?

I usually take Baguettes, Cheeses and Anti Pasti Meats or make Egg and Cress, Cheese and Onion and Beef Sandwiches.

Homemade Scotch Eggs, Quiche. Tomatoes, Cucumber, Carrots, Peppers, Olives

Grapes, Melon, Apples

Crisps etc etc.

That's pretty boring right?

I'm so adventurous with lunches usually!

Give me some exciting ideas 😂😂

That sounds like a lot of work.

Freshly made cheese scones, soft cheese and chutney.

Apples or a box of fresh berries or plums.

I don't think it's boring, more nostalgic or traditional perhaps.

Maybe just add a twist on what you would usually do. Try mixing up your baguette fillings, something like chilli and coriander prawns or a spicy chicken mayo, blt etc. Or do wraps or pitas instead. A Spanish roasted veg and chorizo tortilla instead of quiche. Home made cheese straws always go down well.

There's loads of lovely salads you could do but it depends if you are happy with plated fork food or if you just want to stick with finger food.
