Airbrushing cake help!

I'm airbrushing a cake next week for the 1st time.

Can I airbrush an already coloured fondant? So if it was red could I airbrush yellow over it?

I'd say it would be hard to cover red with yellow, you'd need a good few coats leaving it dry inbetween, be easy enough with white or a lighter colour but trying to change a darker colour to lighter I wouldn't give myself the hassle to be honest!

Thanks very much! I only need one side to be ombre airbrushed the rest is solid red. Would airbrushing to a solid red be really tough? (Why do I make it complicated!?)

Not if over a lighter shade it shouldn't be
